Ukraine is the “sleeping beauty” — a country with immense potential to become an economic marvel and surprise the world in the future.
Ukraine’s primary resource is, above all, its people. Inherited from the Soviet past is a high level of education in all spheres — humanities and industry alike. Over the past 30 years of independence and the last decade of war with Russian aggressors, Ukrainians have gained awareness and acceptance of Western values, rights, and personal freedoms, for which they are willing to fight. Thus, a significant and influential civil society exists beyond politicians, nurtured and tempered in revolutions and protests against corrupt authorities.
Ukrainian civil society has repeatedly triumphed over Ukrainian officials who plunged the Ukrainian state into political crises. Ukrainians are talented entrepreneurs who build successful companies not only in domestic markets but also abroad. Independent journalists advocating freedom of speech, civil activists, volunteers, and soldiers on the front lines successfully resist the vast Russian army of invaders. It is the activity of civil society, and high levels of self-organization, that has saved this country from disappearing and being absorbed by the neighboring Russian dictatorship.
Ukrainians are convinced optimists, individual initiative, and industriousness, coupled with a high level of work discipline, are some of the most noticeable factors in Ukraine. Warmth and creativity also manifest, without exaggeration, in the high-quality, fast, and accessible services, making it the most affordable in the region!
Europe has already appreciated the quality of the Ukrainian population, seeing several million Ukrainian refugees who ended up in Europe due to the ongoing Russian invasion in Ukraine. They stand out significantly compared to others. Ukrainians possess a high personal culture, are hardworking and professional, and are ready for integration into Western society.
Additionally, Ukraine is a country with a favorable geographical position, both in logistic terms (a land bridge between Europe and Asia) and concerning climate and geography. The country has enormous potential in natural resources — fertile lands and rich subsoil. The only thing Ukraine lacks now is wise and effective state governance. There is a high likelihood that it will emerge here after the victory over the aggressors. Then those who, despite critical times for us, believe in Ukraine as strongly as we do, will get a new America in Eastern Europe. It might give rise to new European migrants, but now not across the ocean to the West, but eastward to the shores of the Dnieper and the Black Sea.
Ukraine can become a country with an unregulated administrative environment for enterprising and talented people, for active entrepreneurs and businessmen, because the Ukrainian national character is not inclined to succumb to the pressure of officials and state institutions but rather leans towards freedom both personally and in economics and public life. Paradoxically, Ukraine is still the hidden and not fully unearthed diamond of Europe!
